Where is a good place to have a jewelry box engraved in Utah?Hi,
My friend bought a sterling silver jewelry box, and she wants to have it engraved. Where is a place in Utah that does this? And a good job? I know some places aren't that great. Thanks. This was bought for sentimental reasons, so we are looking for the best. Thanks!

Holy Cow I can't believe people outside my family have seen those movies! I wish I could help you but I haven't seen that movie in over ten years and I don't have it anymore!
Dear god don't get him that!
You will scare him away! Unless you are engaged….don't do it.
buy a ring from a jeweler and ask if they engrave. if they dont, ask for a list of engravers around the area. they'll be happy to help.
when you buy ipods from apple.com, theres a free engraving service. if not and you already have the ipod, you'll have to bring it to the professional engravers, but you have to pay a fee.
The price will depend on many factors. There is no general guide. Factors include: where do you live (it can cost a lot more in metropolitan areas.), what type of script that you choose, the size of the script, how many characters per line, the grade of the metal–is it real, the experience of the engraver, do they do this free handed or do they use the machine, etc…
A good general guage would be that many professional engravers charge similar to tattoo rates for the area. What would a similar size tattoo cost in your area?

I am in the business of selling guns and I guess people just collect them. A gun is a great investment if you are not gonna shoot it, they just increase in value the older it gets.
There was no P mint mark in those days. I would recommend taking the coin to a local coin expert or two for an evaluation. The coin would be worth from $50 up to possibly $1000 based upon your description of the wear, but the "P" might actually decrease the value of the coin. There is an error known as a clashed die error where the two dies become damaged by smashing together with no planchet between them, and subsequent coins have the image of the damaged dies. This does not really sound like what has happened in your case, but it is possible. Again, a local coin expert or two would be your best help, or you might post a photo here. I hope that helps.
